D.O. ‘s new movie “The Moon” will be released in early August

Sci-fi movies are rarely seen in Korea, but the upcoming movie “The Moon” is about to break through those barriers.

EXO member D.O. Starring Do Kyung Soo and also starring Sul Kyung Gu and Kim Hee Ae, this space survival film is expected to revive the Korean film industry, along with “Smugglers,” “Ransomed” and “Concrete Utopia.”

“The Moon” tells the story of a group of scientists and astronauts who must rescue an astronaut stranded on the moon.

D.O. plays Seon Woo, an astronaut trying to survive himself, and Sul Kyung Gu plays Jae Guk, the team leader on Earth who helps Seon Woo get home.

Director Kim Yong-hwa said at a press conference for “The Moon” that, “Our film has many layers, and we built the story with sadness, joy, and how to hold onto a little bit of hope between the characters who are suffering.”

In addition, “The Moon” stars D.O. EXO-Ls are eagerly anticipating the return of the film after 5 years of returning from military service.

“The Moon” will be shown in theaters on August 2nd.
